Claire Baker is a beautiful shining light in the health and wellness community. One of my favourite things about her is she is not about eating the ‘perfect’ diet, she’s about living a fun, playful, radiant life – and if that means eating cheese and wine every now and then, then she’s doing it!
Great health is not about eating the cleanest diet, it’s simply a tool you use to help you be able to live a happy, vibrant life. And this girl knows it.
Her book, She is Radiant, is a 6 week wellness adventure that takes you step-by-step through from start to radiant. This book blew me away by it’s depth but also its approachability – it’s like taking a nutrition course, but completely do-able and understandable. Check it out.
Without further ado, let’s meet this wellness babe and see what nuggets of wisdom we can get out of her pretty head!
What started your health and wellness journey?
Back in 2003, I was diagnosed with severe liver inflammation: this kickstarted a love-affair with detoxing, whole foods and clean living. Buuuuut as these things go, my early 20s were a tad more “crazy” than “clean”, which soon led me to realise I was feeling pretty crappy a lot of time; I knew I wanted more from life, I knew there was a better way. Coming full circle to a clean diet, self-care and a kind lifestyle has certainly been a journey – an ongoing journey – and the best thing I ever did.
Your #1 tip for healing disease?
Whole foods. Fuel your body with nature. Oh, and patience.
What does a soul-tingling day in your life look like?
Ahhhh! Cuddles, movement, coaching, writing, playing, lying in the grass, laughter, love, GREAT FOOD (and even better sex), rest and relaxation.

Can you share you’re favourite recipe with us?
- 3 medium zucchinis
- 1 bunch basil leaves
- 1 bunch parsley
- 1 clove garlic
- Juice from 1 lemon
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- ½ cup pine nuts or cashews
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- In a food processor or high speed blender, blend the basil leaves (put some aside for garnish), parsley, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil and nuts until mixed well. Will smell amazing at this point!
- Using a julienne peeler or regular vegetable peeler, peel the zucchini into thin strips. Stir the pesto through the zucchini ‘pasta’ and top with cherry tomatoes and extra basil leaves for garnish.
