Happy New Year!

A belated Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you all!

I’ve taken a few months off from the blog and am ready to get back into it! 2012 ended on a low note for me. A close family member passed away, I ended up in the hospital and a lot of other crazy stuff happened in between.

Fortunately we still managed to have a great Christmas, with great family and of course – food!

I made a bunch of dips to start – salsa, indian tomato chutney, guacamole, and a vegan pâté. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture as soon as I put them down, and then they were gone!

For lunch, I made potato salad (without the garlic as my Mum is allergic), coleslaw and roasted veggies. The rest of the family had bread rolls (which I stayed well away from!), prawns, and other meats.

For dessert we had choc chip and choc mint cupcakes with a chocolate frosting made of dates, cashews, coconut and cacao – so healthy! And it tastes exactly like frosting out of a tub. I also made sugar cookies, and coconut cream. Everyone loved the desserts and didn’t seem to care they were vegan, or healthy. I will have to share these recipes one day.

I am so excited for what 2013 has to offer! I have a lot of great projects lined up this year and am excited to share some food related products I have been working on. I am also back into graphic design now, doing client work through my business, Olive North. Ash and I are planning on taking on client work with our app company, Zombots. And I will be cooking and will have a ton of great recipes to share! It’s going to be a crazy year.
