Pssst: Here’s the link to buy Ignite Your Spark!
Oh my, I loved making this book for you so much! True, it was stressful trying to fit in little pockets of writing and designing in between making 10 juices a day (yes, seriously!), doing 3 enemas as well as constant food prep, soup and coffee making. Ah, life on the Gerson therapy is a fun ride.
My office is crazy messy, I’ve got files all over the place on my computer and my to do list is a mile long. But I’ve been smiling the entire way through it (minus one teeny tiny meltdown – I get one right?) because I just love what I’m creating. Here’s a behind the scenes snap from this morning:
I didn’t sleep a wink last night – part excitement, part writing this blog post in my head, part noisy storm outside. I woke up late (aka 6am instead of 5am) and sleepy this morning to put the final touches on the book.
It’s a beautiful day today – drizzling rain, cold and a nice change after the melting hot weather of the past few days. I am going to treat myself to a movie on the couch later after working every spare second on this book for months (even during my enemas a few times – don’t ask how I accomplished that!).
So let me tell you a bit about the book and why I wrote it!
When you start to learn about health and wellness it can be just a little bit overwhelming. There are so many voices, so many ‘experts’, coming at you from all different directions, each preaching their version of health as gospel.
Telling you that their way is the best, the only, and the absolute way to be healthy, that everything else is a load of garbage. Maybe their jig is paleo, green smoothies, fermented foods, probiotics, raw food, or something else.
Let me let you in on a little secret: there is no one size fits all solution.
That’s how it’s possible that there is hundreds of different diets, each with success stories (and failures), each with completely opposing views. You can find science to back any one of them up.
I’m not saying that raw food and green smoothies aren’t amazing and great for you – they are!
What I am saying is that we are all unique based on our genes, anatomy, metabolism, composition of bodily fluids, cell structure, gender, age, ancestry and situation. And one size can’t fit all of those factors.
As well as those physical elements, there are factors beyond food that complete our wellness picture, like our emotions, past traumas, mental state, happiness, relationships, spirituality, career and stress levels.
And we don’t need to treat food like a religion, a belief, this side vs. that side. Life isn’t that black and white, and we’re always learning new things.
Isn’t it weird how complicated eating has become.
Strangely complicated. We dissect everything down to calories, fats, protein, calories from fat, carbs, restrictions, portion sizes and lists of “good” and “bad” foods.
It doesn’t need to be this bloody hard!
There are many paths to wellness. You get to choose your own adventure.
Me? I see my role as giving as much information and truth as I can for you to take charge of your own health and decide what’s best for you. Not preaching a certain wellness ideology to you.
And that’s how this book came about. I wanted to share all my wellness wisdom in one easy, digestible package.
A starter kit to help you get going, get clear and give you the motivation you need for the area you’re struggling with.
All the stuff you need to know. The simple truths that are uncomplicated and easy to follow. Plus a buffet of wellness tools for you to pick from as you choose.
