When I started The Vedge two years ago, I was a passionate vegetarian (still am ;)), recently diagnosed with celiac disease and navigating the gluten-free world, and I just wanted to share my creations with the world.
I had no idea where my celiac diagnosis was to take me. It turns out, on quite a journey.
My passion for wellness kept tugging at me, these little ideas nagging at me, but I felt confined to talking about veggies or recipes here on The Vedge.
I want to do more. I want to help more people. And I want to do it in a bigger way.
I felt that a new place for me to explore was the answer I’d been looking for. A fresh, clean slate for me to write the stuff that I want to write. That’s when I came up with Hello Wellness. It feels so upbeat and welcoming to me, and I hope for you too.
Why am I so passionate about wellness?
After I was diagnosed, I thought I had my health all under control by just going-free, adopting a healthy plant-based diet. But my health continued to decline, and over the next two years would continue to pull me under to scary new depths. Over that time, I tried every wellness technique I could get my hands on, trying to find a way to heal my body.
It reached it’s peak earlier this year, when I decided I couldn’t get it under control myself and needed real help. I began The Gerson Therapy in August, and have been steadily improving since then. You can read more about me here.
I’m now well into my journey and will be spending 2015 riding out the Gerson healing wave to it’s conclusion, which I hope will be later in the year.
I will also be spending 2015 sharing every single thing about wellness that I know, doing everything I can to help anyone else in a hopeless-feeling situation like I was, and hopefully prevent many people from ever getting to that dire point.
Let’s change the world, together.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but there’s a huge wellness revolution going on around us. You may watch the telly and think it’s hopeless and the world’s all going to shit, but outside that mainstream corporate-run media bubble there are huge changes happening.
People are waking up. They are taking matters into their own hands.
Chronic diseases have reached disturbing numbers, and medical science has no cure for any chronic illness. People are looking for answers elsewhere.
People are realizing that food and lifestyle does play the major role in deciding our health and happiness.
I walk around the shopping centre today and people don’t look happy. They look sick and sad. It hurts my heart, because I don’t think people know how truly alive and vibrant and well they can feel.
I’m making it my personal mission to help spread the wellness word as far and wide as I can. A grassroots effort to put wellness back into our own hands. To wake people up and show them how good their life can be.
A wellness movement that is good for people, for animals and the planet. Just remember that things don’t have to be the way they are now. This is our constructed society, a blimp in the radar of time, and that things can easily change for the better.
